How long should you expect your computer to last?

There isn’t one strict answer – it depends on the computer, how you use it, and how well it’s looked after.

For many computers, around 4-6 years is a reasonable lifespan, at AmbroTech our MD usually aims for somewhere in the middle and looks to replace computers somewhere around 5 years. That doesn’t automatically mean your 6 year old computer needs replacing yesterday.

Age isn’t the only consideration. If your computer is still performing well, receiving updates, has had upgraded components and is doing everything you need it to, there may be no reason to replace it yet.

On the other hand, if it is becoming slow, unreliable, experiencing frequent problems and struggling with newer software it might be time to consider an upgrade.

AmbroTech can help you assess your current hardware and advise whether it’s worth upgrading, repairing or replacing.
