Well, I’ve had a few customers come to me saying: “I’ve forgotten the password to get into my computer. Can you get me back in?”.
I would have loved my answer to be: “No I cannot because nobody can access your computer without the password”.
But it wasn’t – I was able to bypass it and access all of their private files… quite easily.
Fun fact: without drive encryption, your computer might as well not have a password if stolen.
